How I decided to be a therapist
I’ve always held a great curiosity and intrigue towards the human mind - how our thoughts and behaviors are linked and often times deeply rooted into our past. My desire to help people gain better insight on their lives has led me to become the therapist I am today.
How I would like to help clients as a therapist
I believe in providing a safe environment that will allow my clients to explore their thoughts and feelings freely. As we work together and build this trust relationship, my goal is to then lead them with the right questions, as that will in turn lead to new or deeper insights.
What my theoretical orientation is as a therapist
My primary therapy approach is Psychotherapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I aim at providing a platform for clients to freely explore their feelings, thoughts, desires, and memories so that he or she can make the unconscious conscious, as I believe this will lead us to gaining insight. And by attaining insight, the clients can then raise a sense of control over his or her actions, motives, and decisions.
Additionally, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a structured approach that is effective at reducing or eliminating symptoms related to depression and/or anxiety. I help clients understand the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and how distorted thoughts and beliefs play a role in creating emotional and behavioral confusion.
