How I decided to be a therapist

I chose to be an Occupational Therapist because it gives me pride in knowing that it is the only profession that can approach the wide and various perspectives of all areas of daily living skills and help clients to be able to return to daily life.

How I would like to help clients as a therapist

I will help my clients by identifying the priority areas for treatment by approaching the various issues that clients typically need support in through analysis and evaluation. I will also set short-term goals that lead to achieving appropriate long-term goals that the client can get to with step by step.

What my theoretical orientation is as a therapist

The theoretical orientation that I utilize as an Occupational Therapist is one of the subsystems of the MOHO theory, which asserts that all change starts and sustains from motivation. Through this theory, I will support the client to find their motivation, achieve meaningful tasks, habituate them to generate adaptive behavior, and ultimately restore individuals as meaningful members of society.
