How I decided to be a therapist
Growing up as a pastor's kid and 1.5 generation immigrant in Los Angeles, I helped my community utilize accessible support and resources in times of need. I found immense purpose in my personal life as a helper and I wanted to continue serving others as a therapist in various settings other than church and immigrant communities.
How I would like to help clients as a therapist
I have always resonated with the practice of collaborating with people to achieve self-actualization and increased self-awareness. I am dedicated to creating a safe, non-judgmental, therapeutic space where clients explore their limitless potential and worth. My tools include developing positive coping skills, identifying self-defeating narratives, and counteracting irrational thoughts with more rational, self-esteem enhancing thoughts. I strive to present my authentic self to clients as I encourage them to show up just as they are on their journey of self discovery and emotional healing.
What my theoretical orientation is as a therapist
My approach to therapy is warm, compassionate, and growth-focused. I take an integrative approach utilizing CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and Solution-Focused Therapy as my primary treatment orientation. I am a strength-based, client-centered therapist who believes sessions need to be tailored to the unique needs of the individuals served. Per clients' request, I also integrate faith and spirituality to support clients’ growth and overall wellbeing.
