How I decided to be a therapist
I decided to become a clinical psychologist after witnessing some of my friends struggle with mental health issues that seemed to hinder their journey toward maturity. I believe it is a privileged and valuable position to aid clients’ growth journeys through genuine care, professional knowledge, and personal experiences.
How I would like to help clients as a therapist
As a clinical psychologist, I strongly believe that people possess an innate desire and potential for growth, harboring healing capabilities within themselves. I aim to provide a secure, non-judgmental environment that fosters growth. I strive to customize treatment plans and methods based on clients’ needs and preferences, aiming not just to alleviate symptoms but to facilitate enduring change and growth. Ultimately, my goal is to accompany clients through their life journey with empathy, acceptance, and professionalism as a clinician. Furthermore, I actively engage in empowering aspiring mental health professionals by instructing and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students.
What my theoretical orientation is as a therapist
As a clinical psychologist, my therapeutic approach is eclectic and integrative, drawing from various therapeutic models and techniques to suit each client’s specific needs. The primary therapeutic mode I use in my sessions is a Psychodynamic approach, delving into understanding clients’ desires, personalities, and relationship patterns, offering valuable insights to support their therapeutic goals. Additionally, I incorporate other primary therapeutic models such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Gestalt Therapy to address clients’ individual needs.
