How I decided to be a therapist
I became a speech-language pathologist because of a significant realization: the ability to communicate with ease is often taken for granted. Language is a fundamental skill and any language difficulties can pose significant challenges in daily life, such as impacting relationships, education, and career success. I enjoy seeing not only the progress and success in my clients but also the increased confidence that comes from improved communication.
How I would like to help clients as a therapist
My primary goal is to improve client’s receptive and expressive communication skills, whether it's speech, language, or even non-verbal communication. I firmly believe in tailoring my services to accommodate the unique needs of each client, regardless of their language or cultural backgrounds. I have strong passion and extensive experience in working with clients from both monolingual and bilingual environments.
What my theoretical orientation is as a therapist
I consistently utilize Evidence-Based Practices (EBP) when designing personalized therapies. I also integrate Dynamic Assessment to gain a comprehensive understanding of a client's communication profile, identifying areas for potential improvement and intervention. Early Intervention is also used as I highly value collaborating with families and caregivers to cultivate an inclusive communication environment. My dedication lies in providing education and guidance to empower them to actively engage in the client's progress. This ensures that communication skills evolve and thrive well beyond therapy sessions, resulting in lasting and meaningful improvements.
