How I decided to be a therapist
My decision to become a therapist is rooted from the curiosity about human suffering and how mind operates as well as the belief in the importance of mental health services. I have a deep compassion for us human beings as we often feel lost and alone in our life journey. I hope my knowledge, experience, passion, and genuine care could help clients feel connected and supported through their difficult times.
How I would like to help clients as a therapist
My goals with therapy are in providing empathy and validation, promoting self-agency and self-acceptance, and cultivating psychological flexibility and emotional resilience. I strongly believe that individuals have an inherent capacity to heal and thrive autonomously amidst life’s challenges when provided with the appropriate support. I seek to provide authentic presence, collaborative therapeutic alliance, non-judgmental and supportive space so that client can make meaningful and sustainable changes.
What my theoretical orientation is as a therapist
My therapy approach is based with trauma-informed care, evidence-based techniques, and holistic approaches. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI). I firmly believe in the Mind-Body connection, and integrate embodied interventions such as Mindfulness, Somatic Experiencing, and EMDR into my psychotherapy practice. I also incorporate expressive arts to facilitate clients getting in touch with their innermost and unprocessed emotions.
