How I decided to be a therapist

I found immense joy in building connections, particularly during my time studying abroad, with people from diverse backgrounds. It was a transformative experience that made me realize the universality of human struggles and challenges. Whether through shared conversations or empathetic listening, I discovered that everyone, including myself, faces moments of difficulty. Being able to sincerely listen to their struggles and offer support was incredibly rewarding. These interactions provided opportunities for mutual growth, where we learned and evolved together. Witnessing the positive impact of my support during challenging times solidified my passion for helping others navigate their own journeys. It is a privilege to make a positive difference in someone’s life, fueling my dedication to a career as a therapist.

How I would like to help clients as a therapist

My primary goal is to establish a secure and welcoming atmosphere where both the client and I can develop mutual trust. I aim to create a safe space in which clients feel comfortable being their most genuine selves. Based on this foundational trust, I aspire to accompany my clients serving as a trusted confidant who listens attentively and provides unwavering support. In guiding this therapeutic process, I seek to offer both support and direction, assisting clients in gaining a more objective perspective on their concerns. I believe that self-awareness and personal growth are fundamental to the therapeutic journey. Ultimately, I aim to empower clients to become autonomous individuals who embrace life’s challenges and confidently tackle them. I hope my clients to continue their journey of personal growth beyond our time together.

What my theoretical orientation is as a therapist

There is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. My primary theoretical orientation is rooted in psychodynamic theory, although I also integrate other approaches such as CBT and behavior analysis. Particularly with children facing developmental challenges like autism, I specialize in utilizing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to help them acquire skills necessary for daily tasks, including those encountered at school. Within psychodynamic therapy, delving into past experiences, personal histories, and relationships is paramount for fostering insight and promoting healing.

However, I recognize the importance of tailoring therapy to meet the unique needs of each individual. Drawing from my expertise, I take on a multidimensional lens and adapt my approach to address specific circumstances and concerns. By fostering insight and resilience, my goal is to facilitate sincere personal growth, supporting clients in achieving lasting positive change and fulfilling their potential.
