How I decided to be a therapist

As someone deeply passionate about understanding human behavior and fostering mental wellness, my journey towards becoming a therapist was a natural progression. It began during my undergraduate studies in Psychology and Social Behavior, where I was captivated by the intricacies of the mind and the profound impact of mental health on individuals' lives. This initial fascination grew into a fervent desire to support others in their journey towards healing and self-discovery. Through hands-on experiences, internships, and volunteer work, I witnessed the transformative power of therapy firsthand, solidifying my resolve to pursue a career as a therapist. My decision to become a therapist stems from a deep-seated belief in the importance of providing compassionate support and empowering individuals to lead fulfilling lives.

How I would like to help clients as a therapist

As a therapist, my primary goal is to create a safe and supportive space where clients feel heard, understood, and valued. Drawing upon my diverse clinical experiences and training, I aim to provide personalized and evidence-based interventions tailored to meet each client's unique needs and goals. Whether assisting individuals in managing anxiety, navigating relationship challenges, or coping with trauma, my approach is rooted in empathy, authenticity, and cultural competence. I strive to empower clients to build resilience, develop coping skills, and cultivate self-awareness, ultimately facilitating meaningful growth and positive change. By fostering a collaborative therapeutic alliance, I aspire to guide clients towards greater self-understanding, emotional well-being, and a renewed sense of hope and purpose.

What my theoretical orientation is as a therapist

My theoretical orientation as a therapist is integrative, drawing from various theoretical frameworks to best meet the individual needs of each client. While my approach is flexible and tailored to the unique circumstances of each client, I am particularly influenced by person-centered, cognitive-behavioral, and psychodynamic perspectives. I believe in the importance of creating a warm and empathetic therapeutic relationship (person-centered), while also equipping clients with practical skills to challenge negative thought patterns and behaviors (cognitive-behavioral). Additionally, I value exploring the underlying dynamics and unconscious processes that influence thoughts, feelings, and behaviors (psychodynamic). By integrating these approaches, I aim to provide comprehensive and holistic support to clients, addressing both immediate concerns and underlying issues to promote lasting change and personal growth.
