How I decided to be a therapist
After my volunteer experience in Cambodia, I developed a profound commitment to supporting individuals confronting hardships. Motivated by a deep interest in both language and child development, my aspiration to effect positive change in each client's life led me to become a speech-language pathologist. I consider it a privilege to empower individuals with language difficulties to enhance their confidence in communication skills.
How I would like to help clients as a therapist
As a speech-language pathologist, my primary objective is to assist clients in overcoming their language difficulties through the establishment of relationships founded on understanding, empathy, and trust. Drawing upon extensive experience in providing speech therapy to individuals from both monolingual and bilingual backgrounds, I embrace linguistic and cultural diversity, acknowledge each client’s uniqueness, and administer individualized treatment plans to support them in reaching their full potential.
What my theoretical orientation is as a therapist
With a strong desire to make a difference in clients’ lives and deep compassion for individuals, I carefully consider various factors influencing their language skills, including underlying mechanisms and language environment. I employ Evidence-Based Practices (EBP) and Early Intervention, taking into account clients' circumstances, unique values, and caregivers' involvement. My objective is to facilitate meaningful progress in their communication skills, ultimately contributing to their ability to build a better future. This endeavor includes fostering trust with both clients and their families.
